You do not have to be a teacher or professional storyteller. You simply need a willingness to read, connect, and encourage.

When is Read Across America Day?

UWCT’s 2027 Read Across America Day will take place Friday, March 5, 2027.

Who can volunteer?

Community members who would like to read to elementary school students are encouraged to complete the volunteer form.

Do I need to be a teacher or experienced reader?

No teaching credential is listed as a requirement. Volunteers should be comfortable reading aloud and encouraging young students.
